Amazon: how to set the product type for products
Most marketplaces only allow for one type of product identifier (usually the EAN / GTIN), but in the case of Amazon, multiple are allowed. In order to successfully create product offers on Amazon, it's important that the correct Product ID type and Product ID value are mapped.
You can find these mappings in the Mappings > Offer mappings section of the channel settings.
Product ID type: this is the type of the unique identifier for your product. Possible types are EAN (European Article Number), GTIN (Global Trade Item Number), ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number), ISBN (International Standard Book Number) and UPC (Universal Product Code).
Product ID value: this is the actual value of the product id. Examples: 8719802184482 (EAN), B076MTPDX6 (ASIN), 9781119249443 (ISBN).
It is no longer necessary to map the product identifier for the content mappings; the same identifier type and value that is set for the products in the offer mappings is now used for the content export.
